I have been trying on and off for a few months to join this board and was finally allowed in. Yay!

So, here are a few videos I took a few months ago when Greg X. Volz was here in town for a concert:

Greg X Volz talks about Classic Petra - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lvp0_b3DQqY
Greg X Volz - More Power To Ya - clip - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OsA9IXVIYs
Greg X Volz - The Coloring Song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvtzmHZJ858
Greg X Volz - The Carpenter - clip - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQFFT16Waow

Maybe some of you have seen them, but I wanted to share in case anyone had not. You can see some of the songs they intend to include in the new Classic Petra CD they are working on.

I am praying that the project will touch many.

Thanks for posting these...
I guess I haven't seen a lot of video of GXV in concert. My only real exposure has been CITAS and his participation at the Farewell event. I thought GXV had a decent stage presence back in the 80's, but I'm hoping that these videos don't give a good representation of what we will see in concert today. It has a sort of lounge act feel to it. Maybe it has to do with the fact that he doesn't have a band with him. Am I in the minority here?

I think your perception probably comes from a few factors. 1) As you stated - there was no band, 2) it was a VERY small venue, 3) there was a lack of good publicity for the event (I only accidentally found out about he show on the day of the show.) so the crown was fairly small which meant it was a lot harder to get good feedback/interactiion although he did try very hard.

All in all, it was still a great show that honored God, and provided lots of insight in to who Greg is now. There was a great time of prayer for the (then) coming Classic Petra project and tour at the end. I will see if I can dig up a bit more content to post if anyone is interested.

So he mentioned specifically:

Not by Sight
Judas' Kiss
Bema Seat
Rose Colored Stained Glass Windows
Run for the Prize
Second Wind

Not bad. "Run for the Prize" is a little surprising. Thrilled to see "Bema Seat" and "Not by Sight" on there. The more they can include from Not of This World the better. "Rose Colored" should be pretty awesome redone, as well.

Let me just say I saw Greg here in Tulsa, back in 2007 and I can tell you that he has not lost a bit of energy. He was jumping around on the stage and dancing and just having a great time.
After the concert I had him sign my Beat The System record, and now that the band is coming back, I hope to fulfill my dream and have all of the guys sign it.
