These last two are so far off topic. Any one? Anything. Uhh..... I think Petra is a cool band.

What do you mean off topic?
Obama is a socialist, or he isn't.
John should acknowledge Classic Petra, or he shouldn't.
Calvinism is confusing/compelling, or its not.
Wait a minute, what was the topic again?
Petra is cool. I hope the "new" band (or should it be brand?) does well. While some people may think they're overstaying their welcome, you can't argue that they continue to minister to some, and that really does make it worth it.

How many of you people are going to buy the new cd when it comes out?
Just asking because it seems most on here only like John as lead, and don't like the album art, and so on and so forth.

I like John better as lead, but who can not like those old classics. Like Greg said, that music was filled with the word of God. I will be buying for sure. As far as the album art, It's ok. But I don't really care about that. They could put a picture of a tree on the front for all I care. I just can't wait to hear these songs with hopefully a quicker tempo and modern sound.

The back cover of more power to ya could be used as the front cover for this album!! just a thought..

I will be buying it for sure. There is nothing in Christian music I look forward to more than something new from Petra and seeing that this is something new from the version of Petra I knew first. Well, so much the better.

I will be buying MP3's if they post them for sale. (But no digital format that requires a special player, DRM of any sort, etc...)
I will be buying the CD when it is available.
I will be buying the 'making of' or 'work in progress' CD they release later with outtakes and alternate versions if it is ever available.
I will be buying the live concert DVD when it is available.
I will buy any subsequent albums they make.
Why? Because I hope that at least one more person hears about God and ends up in the Kingdom with us. Everything I can do to support these guys, I want to do.
This version of Petra ministered to me greatly (and still does), and allowed me to bring friends to see their concerts and see another side of Christianity that did not match their pre-conceived ideas. I am glad to see these guys together, and look forward to hearing whatever they put out.

Regarding the ongoing, ever-present droning about John (or any of the other people who have been Petra) being involved or not - really... Who cares? Whether YOU liked this particular incarnation of Petra or not, or whether you think John was a better singer, or whatever has ... no bearing on the ministry potential that this particular incarnation has.
No one here on Earth has to bless this new version of an old group for God to use it, and to be magnified by it. I am praying for a powerful ministry from Classic Petra, and I hope all of you are too. This should be so much more about the ministry than the music. The new versions of old songs is icing on the cake for me.

Ya, the reason I started that thread about John's involvement was to simply find out if he would be a part of it at all. If only Sue replied, that would have been enough. Like I said, I guess I should have just emailed her because that topic became a mess in a hurry.

I'm buying it, even though I don't like the album art. As I said, there are other albums I own with art I like even less. Once you stick it in the CD rack, it's not like I ever have to listen to it again.
But I will always and forever buy anything musical Petra releases. Within reason, of course. I'm not about to go all Petraspective or anything.

Yes, just about everyone who has posted here long enough will probably discover things go off topic pretty quickly.

It probably is better to just deal with stuff by e-mail/private message.
