This just came from the organizers of KINGDOM BOUND Festival - and you can verify on their webpage and their FACEBOOK page... and I quote:
"It's Official! The first artist for Kingdom Bound 2011 is confirmed...and we believe a fitting band, considering we are celebrating our 25th anniversary. All you ‘old timers’ will love this…ready?…it’s CLASSIC PETRA. Yep, you read correctly – Petra is back…they are recording a new CD and will be with us on opening day of KB 2011 – Sunday, July 31."
Awesome news! Bob Hartman, Greg X. Volz, John Lawry, Mark Kelly, and Louie Weaver. The only way it could be better is for a special appearance from John Schlitt!
This is gonna be awesome!!!!!

Well it looks like we have a 2nd show confirmed for Classic Petra, but those two dates are very far apart. Management, I guess is holding of the announcement of tour dates until after the album is released, which is the right way to do it, it's smart buisness to at least hold off until the album is out.

You know, they should have just called it "Petra" and recorded all brand new songs. They could have saved the old songs for a live album. You know Bob and Greg both have so many new songs in the works they gotta an itch to get them out some how.

Oh I have no doubt there are going to be a lot of dates coming up. I have faith that God is going to bless this. The difference here is Petra has now had time off from a large tour schedule, that with the fact that it's a version of the band that hasn't performed in over 20 years, this is going to be very good.
