Google is your friend.

Short answer: No one knows. It may have something to do with sales figures being released on Monday and printed in Billboard on Wednesday. It may be because all the other days have something working against them (after Tuesday: too late in the week, before Tuesday: conflicts with the weekend and any holidays).
EDIT: A guy in the comments to that post said it's basically Tuesday was the earliest day in the week that would still allow record companies to correct any shipping problems that occurred en route to the record stores (which you can't, or at least couldn't, do on the weekend).

For the most part, the industry works better when everything moves on the same clock.

Do you mean stats on the zone? cause there are no stats recorded, I could run stats for a week if you want figures? and no one objects to it?

I started stats this morning, will run them for one week. 06:28
Just for fun...
Let see who can guess Friday 12th 0628hrs AST to Friday 19th 1700hrs AST.
a) how many people visit a week?
b) how many page loads are there total during this period?
The winner gets Pethead statistician title (if they want)
Winner closest to the figures without going over...announced at end of next week.

If you're running stats on the Zone, and you're wanting to see who wins the log in award, The Award better be a Petra CD not some bragging rights. Because Bragging rights could already go to Shell, so far she's the only 5 Star Pethead in the Zone.

Shell got the Atari 2600 posts award a while ago now... that's a lot of posting.
I'm doing stats on page loads & visits nothing else.

I remember we used to be well into a posting war. Me and Samscales were always trying to out post each other.
