Ok, being I have the album now, I thought I'd be the first to attempt to post the lyrics for our one all new song. I did my best to make them all out and I'm pretty sure I have most of them right, but if anyone thinks I've made mistakes, please let me know.

Too Big To Fail - Petra

Words and Music Bob Hartman

From the depths of the deep blue sea
To the end of the heavenlies
He is God over all the earth
To the end of the Universe

He reigns from his throne on high
He reigns over you and I
I’ll testify

(chorus)
Too big, too big
Our God is too big to fail
Too big, our God is too big

Too big, too big
Our God is too big to fail
Too big, our God is too big to fail

He’s loving and merciful
His grace is unsearchable
He’s Lord over sea and sod (may be song)
There is none who is like our God

He reigns from his throne on high
He reigns over you and I

(chorus)
Too big, too big
Our God is too big to fail
Too big, our God is too big

Too big, too big
Our God is too big to fail
Too big, our God is too big to fail

He stretched forth the heavens
And he laid the foundations of the Earth
All glory and honor and praise to the one
Who lives and reigns…
From His throne on high
He reigns over you and I

(chorus)
Too big, too big
Our God is too big to fail
Too big, our God is too big

Too big, too big
Our God is too big to fail
Too big, our God is too big to fail

He stretched forth the heavens
And he laid the foundations of the Earth
All glory and honor and praise to the one
Who lives and reigns…

Looks as if they are putting some new Petra Praise into it.

Well, Petra always was about praise. Even in the classic years each album had one or two praise songs.

Yes they did. I'm happy that Bob wrote a song for this.

How do we know it's written by Bob?

I think each mp3 has the info in the details of the file.

Poetry kind of has artistic license when it come to grammar.

Actually, they made a point of it in mine.

Song writing has never really held to good grammar or a good use of words. Words like “gonna,” “ya’ll,” “t’ward.” It’s more about rhyming to say what you want to say and good grammar don’t always allow for that in some cases.

If it makes you feel better, imagine that the lyric is written:

He reigns from his throne on high
He reigns over ewe and eye.

Not only is this grammatically correct, but the imagery is deep and rich!

Matthew RJ wrote:Nice.

I've been wondering how else to re-write the line.
Could change the top line to
He reigns over earth and sea,
Nice. I like that.

This is why there's the term 'poetic license'...you're allowed to bend the rules of grammar, punctuation and capitalization, and just about everything else for the sake of poetry. Since song lyrics are a form of poetry, we can have all sorts of grammatical violations that get a free pass. Of course, there are times when a song just has bad grammar:

Kutless - Passion: "And in my heart I know that you're the only one who could've came and died, a sacrifice..."

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! Every time I hear this song (not very often), my internal grammar nazi says 'it's would've COME, would've COME...'.

On a completely unrelated note, I remember in school, we had a principal who was a real grammar nazi...if you would ask 'Can I do such-and-such', he would always respond with 'MAY you do...', but for some reason he would always use 'you and I' when he should've used the object pronoun 'me' just like in the aforementioned 'Too Big' lyrics...I never had the courage to correct him in these cases, lest I get in trouble for being disrespectful (it was a rather strict church-run private school).
