Petra in Argentina next week

The Farewell line-up is doing some concerts at Rock & Vida on Dec. 3rd and 4th.
Anyone going? I wish I could be there. It's a massive festival in Buenos Aires with 10,000s of people. Maybe they're going to make a DVD again.
Is there going to be a webcast of these shows?

It should be Classic Petra going to Argentina this time imho. I think it is boring to see Farewell Petra do the same set for the past 8 years.

Hi Guys.... It´s been a long time with out write a post in the zone... my last user was inactivated... i dont know why...
I will be there.... I will travel to Buenos Aires to see them.... I will share any thing that I could take in the show.
In 2007 the crowd was around 50.000 (someones said that was more).... In this oportunity, thinking in the place, may be 10/15K people.
Respect to the set, asking something to Cristian Borneo, he said that could be more or less the same that the last time.... I understood that. I wish they practise more songs in spanish and somethig else that the Farewell set...
blessings,
JM
PS: p-freak... you sent me an email month and month ago respect R&Vida 2007... I never answered that because I was with some personal things.. sorry.

By all means, stay at home and don't go to Argentina then.

Yes, Felipe, I know what you mean. Notice the smileys. No bad intentions here.
They have indeed been playing roughly the same songs since 2003/2004. It would be nice if they would come up with some surprises for those shows in Argentina.

Petra is playing TWO dates in Argentina this time... first in Mendoza, then again in Buenos Aires, where the band played in 2007. I would imagine the crowd there will be the same capacity, if not more.
P-freak, they ARE taping the Buenos Aires concert. Whether or not it ever gets released on DVD is up to Bob, like last time. Rock 'n Vida has the rights to publish and distribute in Argentina only. Petra Productions owns the rest of the world.

No, what DID you mean, fcollazo? Why should it be Classic P.? Do they have a relationship with promoters in Argentina? Or anyone in S. America?
You know, if you think Classic P. should be there - then maybe you ought to take over as their booking agent and see if you can get them 'down south.' I've pretty much kept quiet upon reading a number of comments from you when you continue to compare the two bands, compare John vs. Greg, etc. etc. This time I have to respond, because this particular comment feels very disrespectful to Rock 'n Vida, to Petra, to myself - all of whom have put in many hours of hard work to make these dates happen.
Rock 'n Vida so enjoyed having Petra in 2007 that in 2010 they asked the band back again. PETRA, not Classic Petra. If they wanted Classic P. they could have invited that group, but they didn't. They asked Petra.
In fact, in S. America two Brazilian promoters brought in Petra in 2010, and in 2011 I'm currently working with a Venezuelan on another date. There were two other U.S. dates as well.
Petra is actually retired, and I'm not actively pursuing dates due to Bob's unavailability - the promoters are coming to me. Seems they all must see the worth in spending a lot of time and effort to fly five people to another hemisphere to perform... guess they're not bored in the least.

Sue, I have been saying all this time that this thing that people have about Greg Vs John has to stop. It's getting crazy, I know people care about John's feelings, but I know that John is doing what God wants him to do just as Classic Petra is doing what they feel God wants them to do and the debate of who's better just bares no fruit on the ministry of Petra.
I don't agree with the thought that it should be Classic Petra at the event next month, because that is not who they booked, they booked "Petra" with Bob, John S, and Greg B, I just wish that John L could be with them. As a matter of fact I don't see why from now on any reunion events couldn't be with John Lawry if that is something he and the guys want. They could pull out so many extra songs with John L.

Sue is working very hard as John's booking agent and it's great to hear that there's still quite some demand for Farewell Petra. We should rejoice in that! And not complain. That's the issue.
I think you should re-read my post again. Number 1 I was responding to Sue's reply. Number 2 I was talking in support for Petra's event with John next month.

Come on Sue. I am not insulting anybody. I said it was my humble opinion. I find it boring and embarrasing that The "retired" Farewell Petra keeps doing the same thing over and over again for the past 8 years. What's wrong with expressing my opinion? You just welcomed the new people on this board on the other thread saying to them to go ahead and express their opinions since that's what boards are all about. Is this allowed only if you like the comments?
I learned about Petra in 1987, and grew up listening to John for more than half of my life. I bragged about how cutting edge and modern John's Petra sounded to all my friends, and I live proud of what John acomplished with Petra. That said, I just think that Petra with another drummer is just PETRA KAREOKE, even if Bob is in it, because it devalues the brand in my view. In this case maybe Bob is to blame because he could have said, "well the touring Petra should now be Classic Petra", but he decided to play KAREOKE again. I guess I have to live with it.
I do not pretent to be a promoter, I am a Physician with a very busy practice, and I have many things on my plate, so I will leave that to you and Michael Nachtigal to figure out.
I still love you Sue. I am the same guy that traded with you and Terje all those Petra videos since 1995.
