If I was to set up a Classic Petra concert for 2000 to 3000 people @ $18 per head
Who would travel to sunny Phoenix Arizona for this? or another state open to suggestion.
I will take care of ticket sales, website for the concert, all marketing, venue etc. prepayment of Classic Petra. This would be a Pethead convention day at the same time. This can be planned far enough ahead so our friends overseas can come too.
thoughts?

Count me and my husband in!!!
I can help print the flyers for advertising too!
Even if they come to CA I will still drive to Arizona to see them again!!!

These things always have a better shot of attracting people if they are more centrally located I think. That location is great for folks who live in the southwest, but tough for anyone else. A location more along the lines of Kansas or Nebraska would make it more accessible to more people.

Kansas, ding ding ding ding. THERE you go. If you do it here, there are plenty of good venues.

Ok lets say Kansas... anymore thoughts.. need more excitement this could be the Petra moment of moments with 3000 screaming Petheads.. ok well I will be screaming.
Might even be able to get some special guests over during the convention in the day time.
Brent, I am going to call you soon.
Please more input.

I would do my best, but I would have to have time to plan for it. Phoenix is close enough for me it could be doable.

I know it hard for people to travel in this economy, I guess the idea is that every one can get to experience a concert with a fans audience, not just a festival appearance. Any other ideas that will make this thing doable for everyone.. time of year? anything else?

Summer would be best for me, especially if it's in Kansas. I have a friend who lives down there I wouldn't mind visiting, so I could kill two birds with one stone as they say.

Ok I have just viewed the tech rider, the ticket prices would be more because the requirements are more than expected for say other lineups of Petra in the last 11 years. Having said that if we can get numbers this isn't a problem, more numbers like 4000 ppl and the ticket price shouldn't waiver. Where it is at it would be better to get them to a festival.

Well, if it's going to take 4,000 people at $20 a pop to justify the investment, that could explain why it's taking so long to see dates put up.
Don't get me wrong. I really want to see this happen. But if there going to be stuck in 1984 in terms of expectations it isn't going to happen.

I don't see 4k people going to ANY Christian concert in this region of the US, unless it is to see multiple artists at a festival or a captive church audience. 2k is a stretch. With this economy, I don't see many promoters laying out 60k plus, insurance, lawyering, accounting/ticket sales.
