I don`t know if somebody post about it ...
For the Petheads who loves the Blues... what do you think about the two Petra`s Blues songs?
1. Backslidin' Blues
2. All over me
I like them... the first one would be interesting to hear in a new record with modern sounds...

I like them both the version of Backslidin' Blues where Bob and Greg swap vocals during the song is my favorite version of it. I like "Killing My Old Man" as well.

I love All Over Me. They should redo it in the style of the cover by Die Happy.

Two versions of Backslidin' Blues? There's only one version with Bob on lead vocals, right? Where can I find the other version with Bob and Greg sharing lead vocals?

Ah yes, of course, I was thinking of an officially released version and I was a little bit confused because I thought Greg was Greg Hough. And this live version features Bob and Greg X. Volz.
Juan, I can send it to you!

Yeah, that's the one I am referring to. It's pretty awesome, that whole concert is. It leads into what I think that is Bob's best solo in a concert that I've ever heard, that then leads into God Gave RocknRoll ...

Pieter, I would love to have that version, as well. And don't worry, I still have your LP to send you. Just waiting for payday!
I would consider "Killing My Old Man" to be a blues song. Also "I'm Not Ashamed."

Sally and Wake Up sate my blues palate as well.

Trodland has hosted the concert for a while on his site or at least linked to it. It's under the Petra - Live in NY 1983 section on cd1, track 15. It is awesome, not a perfect audio copy, but you get the gist of it. Now, if there is a more higher quality copy that I don't know of, I'd like to hear it as well.

There are a lot of great stuff in that concert, and the audio quality is pretty good, which is cool.
I love the "Come and join Us" / "Chameleon" medley. CAJU sounds MUCH better being sung by Greg (sorry, Bob!). Also love the "Backslidin' Blues," as well as using "Ask Him In" as the altar call prelude. This version of "God Gave Rock and Roll to You" is easily the best I've heard -- crunchier guitars than the old album version, but the better arrangement. I'd love if they remade it on the next Classic Petra CD and kept the old arrangement rather than the BTS version.
Trodlan's site also has some great old stuff -- including the live version of "Rockin' On With Jesus," which never made it to a studio recording and a live version of "Storm Comin'", both recorded in 1973 with the original band. Great audio quality on those tracks, too, considering how old they are.

Wow. I can't believe I never downloaded this concert before. It's awesome. Very nice to hear them playing some of the really old songs that I've never heard live before and Bob's solo on this....unbelievable. So much better than any I've ever heard him do. I wish he still did stuff like that.

Yep, the sermonette before Taste and See is one of Bob's best too (about dog food).

Yeah, that was good. I know that song is way out of style now, but it almost makes you wish they still did it, just so he could still use that.
