It's terribly unfortunate that they did the interview in a place where there was so much noise. It's so hard to hear what they are saying and some parts can't be understood at all. Anyway, it was good to hear Farewell Petra address the issue of Classic Petra a little bit. It was also good to hear that maybe the Farewell line up might not be completely opposed to the idea of doing a new album some day.

OK:
1. John says that the Classic Lineup is what he saw early in his conversion to Christianity as what a great Christian Rock Band should be He said this before as part of his testimony. He also recognized the 2 different versions of Petra and called them Classic and Farewell Petra. He said Farewell Petra could make another record.
2. Greg Baily said the Classic Petra lineup he saw back then, inspired him to join Petra.

I think it would be weird for Farewell Petra and Classic Petra to both be putting out albums with new material, especially when J&H was just John, Bob and session musicians.
If they want to make new music with both incarnations of Petra, why not combine projects? Instead of the 3rd Classic Petra album of all new Classic Petra material, why not have the Classic lineup play and do half Greg and half John. You could even have Greg B play some bass on the John songs or do some BGVs. I think that might be more feasible than new albums from both groups. That's a lot of writing for Bob!
It's kinda like Yes back in late 80s/early 90s. There was Yes and a "Classic Yes" (Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe) both going at the same time. Both groups were looking to put out new albums and they ended up combining their efforts to make one album, Union, which featured mostly ABWH songs with four "New Yes" songs. So the idea is not unheard of. I'm not saying both Petras would officially merge and tour together, because we know that's not likely. But having John do vocals on some songs on an album with the classic lineup would work IMHO.

It's not a bad idea, not a bad idea at all!
