The vote will make you feel good, make the band feel good, but at the end of the day, it is nothing more than a feel good thing. If you want to do something beneficial, call the radio network offices and stations in your area and ask them to play the new record.

While it makes for a good feeling, it ALSO is another thing to add legitimacy to Classic P. and to John Schlitt.

John's publicity firm can work with this, keeping his name out there and in the public eye should he win. I'm assuming CP's firm will do the same.

That's the benefit.

Kind of like going to the polls in real life. At least where I'm from.

Don't get me wrong. Publicity is great. Everyone needs it. All I am saying is that radio people hearing DEMAND from REAL PEOPLE who have taken the time to call will go further than a poll. Polls are not usually considered when programming.Sue, Petra and John are legit by their millions of records sold, their awards and their impact on people. A website poll is nothing by comparison IMO. Yes, it is nice that maybe a few hundred people across the US will take the time to vote. But then again, they will have access to the numbers and be able to see only a few hundred people voted. Last I checked, people still consult PollStar, SoundScan and Billboard Charts (formerly Radio and Records) to determine if an artist is legit.

Radio is so DEAD!! Some if not most artists are not even solicitating their singles to the stations anymore. I know my local CCM station no longer gets new singles they actually pick and choose what they want to play. Most radio stations no longer take requests.

Radio is dead compared to the old days, but it is still the industry accepted way to deliver music. KLove and Air1 and Christian talk are doing well enough. It costs more money in the KC market to advertise on radio than TV, because it is still the driving for here. In fact, our rock morning show is in the top five of the country. Our talk radio is in the top 10. In the top 10 markets, radio is still viewed by the industry as the main option. Every other media outlet is fractioned and inefficient at this point.

Brent, I don’t see why we can’t do both!

It won’t just make me “feel good”…it will make me feel "GREAT" if they WIN! I’m all for doing ANYTHING that will make them “feel good”…after all they’ve blessed us with songs that we will treasure for the rest of our lives! I think we should do ALL we can to help them, even if it is at the end of the day, nothing more than a feel good thing…nothing wrong with making them feel good!

Whoever wants to make Classic Petra and John “feel good” and help them get more publicity…
