The Petra Zone

I saw this was posted early this morning by Classic Petra (on Facebook) as a response to a question about when the DVD was coming out.

"We are still waiting for TBN to finish mastering. We know they are working on it, but don't have an air date yet. I wish we could tell you more! We've all been waiting a long time for this. Initially TBN planned to air it January 1! We do know it will be soon, though. All the music tracks are complete. We promise to post it the second we get word!"

So it seems it's not just us getting frustrated by delays and it seems TBN are the ones dragging their feet and slowing everything down.

Preacher you were at the taping right, is it going to be worth the wait? or would another taping near the end of the tour been better?

I told you. TBN is unreliable. Been there, done that. Unless you are bringing them a bunch of money, you get what you get.

No, actually, I wasn't at the taping, so like everyone else I'm very anxious to see this, but I think it only stands to reason that taping a later show probably would have been a better idea, but who knows, maybe we'll all be blown away by how good the DVD is, it sure should be given how long they've taken with it.

When the tour starts on the 28th in Australia, and the set gets tight after 6 months of touring, I think they will want to re-do the video. its unfair that TBN holds all the cards on this, and may have caused some disinterest in classic Petra because of the wait.

At long last we have official information to share with you on the broadcast date for the Live TBN show! The show is scheduled to air between May 25 and June 6. The director will send the exact dates about 10 days before the air time, and we will post them here on the blog, and on Facebook. We plan to have the DVD available on our site at that point. The mastering of the program and video has taken much longer than we anticipated, but I think when you see it, you’ll say it has been worth the wait.

Oh well, May isn\'t that bad. Farewell was recorded in October and we only got the DVD in March, so that was five months. It\'s now almost five months since the taping and we still seem to have to wait another two. Not that bad. And don\'t forget: we\'re getting some kind of documentary as well (just hoping that it\'s good).

Anyone here going to any of the Classic Petra shows? I won\'t be in the Netherlands at the time of the Classic Petra show in Amsterdam. So I\'m going to miss them. Can\'t even make it to one of the other European shows...

Yeah I'm going to the first concert in Toowoomba on Good Friday. Not long to wait now.

Colossuss, can you please post and share here on the zone any pictures or video you might take at the friday concert for us unfortunate fellow fans that can not go?

Yeah sure, I'll be taking heaps of photos.
