I Think Greg's Voice Has Improved Since Farewell

Post by Preacherman777 » Fri Apr 29, 2011 9:19 pm

I was taking some time to watch again Greg's performance of Grave Robber on Farewell and at that time he seemed to have a little bit harder time going for some of those notes, not real bad, but certainly noticeable. Now, however, he doesn't seem to struggle at all and is hitting much higher notes than had to at that time for that song, so it seems that somehow he must have worked with his voice and got some of his range back. I know that can happen. Michael Sweet of Stryper did it as well. When they first got back together he really had a hard time hitting those notes he used to sing, but over time he's gained a lot of that back and it would seem that Greg has managed to do the same.

It's like he is breaking his voice back in, 25+ years is a long time to not tour.. he has picked up significantly since Farewell DVD good times ahead!

I think he even improved under that Easterfest concert. ;-) The first couple of songs started out a little so-so, but then he got better and better. Maybe he jumped around a lot while singing in the beginning, or maybe he hadn't warmed up enough before going on stage.

I agree. I was a bit disappointed with his Farewell showing, but he sounds as good as ever on Back to the Rock and in the live stuff I've heard from their recent shows. Arguably, he sounds even better than he did on the 80's albums because his voice seems fuller now.
