I am honestly amazed how much I enjoy and listen to this album. I keep a copy in my van and play it often. When I first heard it, I didn't know if the new versions of the songs would be able to become my preferred listening option over the old versions, but they really have. The album gives a nice mix of the old songs in an updated way that I've really taken a liking to. The one and half new songs are even very much to my liking and have really grown on me. I welcome another album to be done after this blueprint, but am even more excited at the prospect of an all new album from this lineup. Classic Petra may never take the world by storm, but in my opinion they have breathed new life into a band that had pretty much run it's course, and it does my heart good to see this board lit up in a way that hasn't happened for a long time. The icing on the cake is the knowledge that we may also get a new rock album from John. It's a good time to be a Petra fan.

I agree Preach, with one exception. I knew after about 2 or 3 listens that I liked these versions better than the originals. I'll probably rarely listen to the originals in the future. Lovin' this CD. Hope we get more.

What do you guys like better, the studio versions, or the live versions?

I find I am enjoying the live versions even more. And both better than the originals. I went back and listened to Greg original Back to the Rock (which I originally favored) and was surprised to find that I liked the new one more now.

I haven't bought the live version yet, but I guess I may to since I keep hearing it sounds better.

I have to say I like the live versions better. It's like Greg's voice is stronger with the higher notes sounding better with more confidence. Maybe it's the same situation as when John Schlitt sang on Back to the street. He was ok. But, man after touring for a while, he really sounded good on This means War.
