Hey everyone,
Well, guess what? John Schlitt is coming to Newfoundland, to perform in concert! (solo)
Some of you may have seen this on John's "Tour" page already, but I want to encourage those of you who are in Newfoundland to come (hey, come from everywhere! ) Or if you have family, friends, etc. in Newfoundland, please spread the word! We are so excited to have the Legend of Rock (and also the voted "Best Christian Male Vocalist of the Year") and Grammy award winner, coming to the Avalon Peninsula!
For those wondering, the concert will be in Carbonear, which is located about one-and-a-half hours drive from St. Johns. It will be held at the Princess Sheila NaGeira Theatre, at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September the 24th. You can find all the contact and ticket info on John's website.
John will also be both speaking and leading worship at Victoria United Church the following morning at 11:00 a.m.
We are so excited to be working with Sue and John on this!

Where is this? Is this outside the usa?

Uhm... Felipe, are you serious? You've never heard of Newfoundland? It's your northern neighbour with its wonderful exports (like big black dogs and Matthew RJ)!

Actually, fall is our most beautiful time of year! We generally have a late spring, and then a beautiful "Indian Summer" that can extend quite late! You should come up sometime Sue!

(Hey, too bad we couldn't take John to do a little sight-seeing...some of Newfoundland's most beautiful areas are just minutes away! )

Canada? Sorry, the only things about Canada that I know are: Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, The Mounties, Quebec, Toronto, Ontario, Montreal, and stuff like that. ;(

Not only big black dogs, but smaller retrievers too! (Labrador retrievers, which include blacks, yellows and chocolates).

Matthew, John usually doesn't do that song, but remind me when the time gets closer - he'll often put a song in the set if the promoter really wants it.

I wouldn't mind a bit of Indian Summer.... maybe one day!

Hey Matthew RJ... Of course I know what you're talking about It would be wonderful if John could do I am on the Rock! I'm not sure how it would sound with John as a solo artist (with the backing vocals and whatnot) but if it's possible, it would be something to shoot for!

Don't forget, we're also known as down home and once you've been here, you always want to go back!

Just bumping this up, in case any of you have decided you have a wild desire to visit The Rock.

Just wanted to let you's all know, that the concert was an amazing success, I'll be posting a full synopsis as soon as I have time. I think he really enjoyed being with us, we sure loved having him and we're already talking about when we can get him to come back!

And yes, he did play, "I am on the Rock" I'm assuming that was Sue's doing? If so, Sue, THANK YOU!!!!! Everyone loved it!

Actually he did The Cross Remains, everyone really liked it! I'm looking forward to hearing stuff off the new album as well, but I think The Cross Remains is going to wind up being one of my favorites!

Yes, that song was for you guys. I Am On the Rock is usually not in John's set but I mentioned that you wanted to hear it. So you got it!

Thanks for posting the pictures Sue, now everyone can enjoy them! I think John was pretty excited about seeing different parts of Newfoundland, I know he doesn't usually do the sightseeing bit so we were doubly blessed; having him sing and then being able to escort him around! Of course, that picture of us overlooking St. John's is going on my wall...

We're already talking about having him back again, maybe next year????? LOL!
