Over at the Classic Petra blog, it was stated by Yvonne that Mike has resigned from management, mostly for financial reasons, and that the band is looking to hook up with a record company and new management. I hope all goes well for the band and for Mike and Yvonne as I know they poured their heart into this. Prayers to all those involved...

I don't know who they are going to get to sign them. Petra boys like to be in control of their own destiny and we have seen what Word and Inpoop did to the last generations of Petra. I hope they find someone with deep pockets who will let them do their thing with the oversight of a successful producer who is well versed in all things Classic Petra.

Kickstarter is not going to stick around as it does not solve the problems/needs of the buying public. Kickstarter does nothing for getting artists on TV, Radio, bannered on the web, reviewed in print and on the web, tour support, recorded, managed, pressed, distributed. Kickstarter does not connect new people with product and break artists into new markets. It is not networked. It is a money handler. It does not invest and or loan money, get you in front of all the right people, on the right tours, etc.

I agree with everything you said except the producer part; I think it would be a huge mistake to bring him in as producer. I think they need someone either fresh and current to bring an updated version of the band, or someone with time and experience like Brown Bannister without all the legal issues and baggage.

It was a running joke here and other places. I did not invent it. Wish I had. That label did a poor job with Petra, planning their death, not their continuance.

So true, and poor and poop is putting it lightly.

I know Word really jerked them around (doing unscrupulous things like putting a scathing review of "Double Take" in that year's GMA press packet; I had the "privilege" of seeing this with my own eyes), but I was under the impression that InPop treated them reasonably well. Apparently I am poorly informed.

Inpoop had a good relationship with Petra at the start. I think they convinced Bob that PP3 Revival was where it was at.. John S. wanted a rock album but they didn't listen until J&H came out...
