For those who missed this interview, I managed to grab it while streaming. I have edited out all the commercials, and uploaded the file for you all to hear! The first hour was mainly with Schlitt Petra music, and the interview starts at the time 46:20.
A really nice and interresting interview! (Running time: 90 minutes)

By the way are they referring to something specific, that has happened in american politics since they are very unhappy with the developement? Or just the secularization of the western societies in generel?

After hearing John on a few different programs it sounds like too me he aligns himself with the TEA Party; which is an off shoot of RNC. I'm not saying he endorses them just saying his beliefs seem to fall inline with them.

Hmm thats interesting. Well, to not go off the topic, we better not start discussing politics here, but if someone's up for it (???) i think it could be very interesting talking with some americans, since there obviously are some big differencies between american and european (scandinavian not the least!) politic

Yes the differences are very obvious! Personally I just think it would be interesting to hear some americans view on european politics as well as sharing my views (positive and negative) on american politics. Would not want any parts to condemn the other, rather just to share different views would be interesting I think

Great job, Trodland! We'll have to get it up on jws.com

I was telling John that it was one of the VERY FEW times I ever heard him hesitate that long before answering/responding to a statement (the statement by Bishop about the current administration...) hehehehe....

The biggest mistake artists can make is getting specific about politicians and parties. The artists alienate fans with opposing and or different views. It would be better to make a biblical stand and then let the bible define who is who is not on God's side.

Well, the unthinkable has happened: Brent and I agree on something political. 8)

Seriously though, I love John and fully intend to get his new album, but if it's going to have overtly political stances, I'll pass. No one likes it when actors and actresses start disseminating half-informed viewpoints from the left; I don't think it's any better for Christian musicians to put it to rhyme with a catchy beat from the right. At least the actors and actresses don't claim to be speaking for God.

[I'm speaking generally, for the record. I don't know that John has any plans to do that, or that he would claim divine authority for it were he to do so.]

Disclaimer. I love our country, and there is no place I would rather be. But, many Christians tend to wrap the American flag and the republican party around the cross and package them together. My old denomination just assumes that once people convert to Christianity, they will register as republicans. Insane. While I would say that I am closer to republican than democrat, neither are truly Christian and support biblical views through and through. Personally, I have little to no faith in our system, since I know who is in charge of voting machines and the data bases. We are just given the illusion of freedom to choose. The decisions are REALLY made by the richest of the richest, and we know what usually drives those kinds of people.

Now, I have heard John touch delicately on our nation, our focus, our direction and our responsibilities. He was PC to a point and then he got worked up and the crowd followed suite. His message was for like minded people. If he put his thoughts on disc, I think he would make some people mad. Is that a bad thing? That's for him to decide.

But at least we know where he stands. I don't think its a big deal, as long as he stays on the Biblical path I'm fine; maybe its time some of us Christians get offended and wake up from our slumber.

I'm thinking most don't like it because we are either afraid we will disagree with them or maybe we will get convicted by the Holy Spirit.
