Today was a Petra day

I recently began a new job that requires more of a commute than I'm used to (about 45 minutes each way.) My iPod contains the complete Petra discography, as well as the complete Rez, and several others, plus a whole bunch of singles from various bands.
Yesterday morning, I had the iPod on shuffle, and "The Rock Block" came on. This, of course, is the maxisingle from the Star Song compilation of the same name, which IIRC is VERY similar to both Petrafied! and Petra Means Rock. (On the SS comps, I didn't keep the full albums on my HD, just the maxisingles.) Anyway, listening to the Rock Block, I realized that the way I listen to music has fundamentally changed.
Since the iPod, I often listen to music on shuffle, and so I hear only one or two tracks from a given artist during a drive. I used to make mix tapes quite a bit, but if I didn't have a mix tape in the car, my only option was to listen to a full album. I decided that today would be a Petra day, and that I would play full albums.
I kicked off this morning with _On Fire!_, followed by _Back to the Street_, followed by _Jekyll and Hyde._ It was a great drive.

I guess I'm still a bit old school. I listen to mp3s except for in the car (only have a CD player there), but still usually listen to albums or part of albums...almost never do the shuffle thing. I will say that mp3s suck with live albums...you get that annoying split-second break between each song. I downloaded one live album and made a cd of it so I could listen to it in the car, and I couldn't stand that part of it. That's why they better keep making CDs!

I always make sure I have some Petra CD's with me when driving more than 15 min or more. I've been listening to BTTR(CD) & BTTS lately and JAH is never far away.

I actually made a copy of my J&H CD when it came out to keep in my car at all times...so handy!

I'm 48 years old but a lot younger in the Lord.
This week is the first time I've ever heard JAH and have been blasting the whole album (well CD) in my car.
So you can imagine what a great week I'm having!!!

When you burn a live CD, in Nero, set it to "no gap" and then to overlap the tracks by a few frames. Works pretty well, actually.

...then why don't you just make one long mp3 for the whole CD!?

I listen to mp3s every day on my computer. Most of the time on shuffle play but some times on album play - especially if it's an album I just got.

What I did just recently was burn off all my Petra CD's into "car copies." that way if anything happens to them, I don't have to worry about losing some of my older and rarer ones.
