Just saw this on Facebook. Was surprised I had not seen it here:

Yes, it's real. Oscar just finished the last of his deposits, so Petra will be on their way!

I know I'm probably talking crazy, but will these 4 guys ever put out another record again? Cause that would be cool.

The focus of Bob seems to be on Classic Petra at this time, so chances are slim.

Well if they did it would be the fist, not "another"! These four have never recorded a studio album together-wait a minute they didn't with the last drummer either.

Or, from what it sounds like, bass player either. I thought Greg B played bass on J&H but I guess not. But, you know what I mean, it would be awsome if these four put out a somewhat follow up to the J&H/ Farewell era music in that style. You know Bob probably has songs written for it.

Well, I for one would prefer to see Bob keep his focus right where it is. We already have new stuff coming with John Schlitt and I'd like to see what Classic Petra can give us once they start producing more original music. I enjoyed Too Big To Fail, but I know they've got harder stuff in them and I want to hear it.

Ya, I would like to hear some more songs like "It is Finished " re-recorded. Just not sure if we will see anything new from CP the way things have gone/ are going.

I think we'll hear more from them. It's probably easy to assume that things are bad because we are not hearing anything right now, but I took the transition message on their website as a very good sign. It tells me that something is happening and it asks us to check back soon, which means there will be something new to see. Whether or not what's coming will still follow the plan as it was previously laid out, who knows, but I'm very encouraged that there will be more from Classic Petra.

Thanks for the pics, Sue! They're great :)

And thanks for the vid links Trod! Hopefully some better quality video was taken, but from what little I CAN hear it sounds like it was great! John especially sounds and looks great!

I agree... even thought the quality of the vid is pretty bad, you can still hear John! Here's a quick report from him:

Petra is back home, safe & sound! John reports that they had a GREAT time in Venezuela... the people were all so nice and treated Petra wonderfully. The promoter, Oscar Chirinos, was very gracious, as were everyone Petra came in contact with. Petra sends their greetings and many thanks to all those involved with Gen1 and the concert!

That's good news. I think focusing on just Classic Petra could be more harmful than helpful. As long as dates are coming in for Petra, that is free pubs for Classic also. I think Bob, John, & Bailey all have strong writing talents and the same goes for CP.
