Need advice, suggestion, or reference

Can anyone tell me what guitar pedal or sound equipment was used to produce the overdrive in the '84 "Not of this World" and '85 "Beat the System" albums? I've been searching for the sound for over 2 years now and still haven't come across anything close. Any help, reference or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

It's my favorite overdrive on the planet but I don't know whether it's an amp, pedal(s), or sound equipment (amp heads etc.) or a mix. I emailed Bob Hartman but he still hasn't gotten back with me. I really need some help.

Brent could probably answer that.

Sorry, I have no idea exactly. I only know they used to use Fenders back then, but do not recall the years and models. You guys should contact JDB if Bob doesn't answer.
