I see posts from Classic Petra, but there are posts from another Petra FB page and John's FB page too, it isn't just CP.

Dude! You guys are on it...I just finished posting over at the Classic Petra Forum a little tidbit from the CP FB page that I think is interesting. On one of the posts, who is posting for the page says that "The band is now administering its own social web. We're getting the hang of all this!"
How cool is that?! So, it looks like that the Classic Petra FB will be a very direct line to the band! I also like the fact that they give a nice request for safe travel for the "Farewell" lineup that is playing in Venezuela on Dec. 17. Loving the support for all playing incarnations of the band.
Anyway, just my $.02!
Eric

I wouldn't be too quick to assume it really IS one of the 5 members. If you read the posts and Twitter page, it's someone by the name of DEAN.
You can also tell by the verbage the poster is using... guys that are 60+ don't generally use words like "awesome" and "shucks."
It WAS nice to mention safe travel for Petra on their trip to Venezuela.

I think this is Dean from dPulse who they partnered with just before the release of BTTR in November 2010. They were partnering with dPulse and they were going to handle distribution and social media for Classic Petra, but for some reason the whole deal fell through and they were kicked out. Good to see them back, because these guys have a heart for anything Petra (hence the Farewell mention) and they're willing to give this a huge push.
So sad to see that Michael and Yvonne felt it necessary to post such remarks openly on Facebook.

***You're right, Sue, let's assume they're liars.
OR, here is a novel and less critical thought, maybe they are learning how to do the social media stuff AND they've enlisted some help.
Either way, I'm very excited to hear their news!

This is great news! I've been talking about using all free resources for CP now for 18 months. It's a little late coming to the dance but their here now and hopefully will continue to use it. Someone that is official with the CP camp is doing this so that's all that matters.

What remarks are you referring to?

Here is a response I got when I asked who was posting the updates on Classic Petra Facebook Page.
Hi, Mike: The updates since yesterday evening have been posted by me. My name is Dean and I am a volunteer and simply assisting in Classic Petra's social media at the request of the band. I'm not affiliated with Classic Petra's management or their label (ANR). Merely asked to assist with this one specific function.
I am also the original admin of this page, which had been dormant for a bit.
The members of the band now do have equal access to this page, as well as Twitter, etc and will be posting directly. As some (Greg X and John Lawry) are currently more familiar with Facebook, I would imagine they will be the first to do so. Greg X is expected to do so shortly.
When they do post, band members will noted their initials on the post. If you don't see initials on a personal post, it can be assumed it's a general message.
There have been a flurry of messages since last night. This is mainly as there are things going on of interest to listeners and fans - just catching up.

That sounds reasonable; most bands, authors and so on do have people helping them even if they participate in running their sites. I'm glad for the updates.
Whatever the case, it's not likely the world will stop revolving because of posts on the Internet.

Maybe I'm just really slow (don't answer that, Jonathan!) but I just noticed the similarities in design concept between album cover & book cover:
Guess Bob likes mountains & lava?!

Don't forget this one, although the band had nothing to do with that:
