I would hope that if he does it, he rocks it. A Christmas album in the style of The Grafting would not interest me at all.

Christmas album with 12 songs, 6 from John & 6 from Greg.. that would be a cool arrangement.

My all time fav non Petra or solo career song is John singing the National Anthem at the hockey game. THAT was awesome. If John could sing that high, with that power, over a rock arrangement, I would pay $100 for that single.

Believe it or not, I don't listen to much Christmas or Christian music. I get kind of sick of it, because I hear it everywhere I go, from everyone I work with and for. It is hard to sit back and enjoy it given the whole vibe of the season in our culture. Even my church doesn't mess with a big production anymore. I would still probably buy it.

If John makes a Christmas album, he had better hop on it now, so they can get it placed in the stores. The cut off for distributor catalog printing for Q4 will be soon approaching.

Yeah, I also love his singing of the National Anthem at the hockey game!! Lou Gramm does it very well too, not as smooth as John though - Lou's sounds grittier.

If John does this album, every song must be scripture...in the King James, with no mention of fun, snow men, gifts, or the USA or there will be hell to pay for the heresy.

Silly question maybe, but is there so much many left from the TGC funding that John can afford to record another album right away? Or is he counting on income from TGC to fund this project?

If he does a Christmas album (which isn't really necessary in my opinion - I'd much rather see a Farewell Petra record or a Classic Petra w/ John Schlitt record), please, please, please don't let him record O Holy Night. Too cheesy...

I remember awhile back Sue was asking about suggestions for hymns John could sing in more conservative churches.

Combine the two...release an album that has Christmas songs ("O Holy Night") and hymns together. I would love for John to record my favorite hymn "Look For Me"...I think he'd do a spendid job.

Good idea!

If John does a Christmas album, I'd like to hear him do some really different songs, not the over-done carols that seem to be on every CD. I'd like to hear "While Shepherds watched their flocks by night" or "Angels from the Realms of Glory."

Hymns? "Be Thou my Vision" would be awesome. "I know Whom I have Believed," "Hide Thou Me," etc. I love hymns so pretty much anything would be enjoyable to me. NOT Amazing Grace, that one's been done way too many times already!
