Is Anyone Else Amazed by Bob?

I got to thinking about it and I realized that no matter who is playing, Classic Petra or Farewell Petra, Bob is always there and remembers and plays all the songs involved with two different eras of the band. Nobody else in either band has to do that. I think that's pretty amazing myself. He may gettin' on in years, but he's gotta be sharp as a tack.

He is solid as a rock! I'm not sure if I've ever seen a single video clip where he does a mistake with his guitar.

That's because he is THE man as far as guitar playing goes. Yes, you can argue that there are better, faster, more talented, more whatever guitar players out there, but for me, Bob is IT. Period. Full stop. End of story.

I think its amazing that he has to remember two different versions of the songs for every song that the two incarnations have in common. With the Farewell line-up, he has to compensate for the lack of keys...all in all, just amazing.

I definitely agree that Bob is one of the best out there. There are flashier, more melodic, more technically proficient guitar players out there for sure, but when it comes to playing what the songs need...Bob is the man!

Bob is awesome. It is amazing what he can do with a guitar. If you watch the Farewell extra videos again, you will see just how "awesome" Peter Furler thinks Bob is and how he can adapt and write the perfect transitions between sections of music. God really has done a great work through the talents He gave Bob and we are the beneficiary of them.

The writing is amazing and he gets no or little credit(unless its a Pethead) from any outside source. He has a gift that God gave him and he uses it for God's Glory.

I think his solos are the best out there, you can tell they are made for the actual song they are in and completely embedded in the feel of the song; all his solos flow with ease in the song. I would love to have Bob do a total instrumental, that would put a cap on his career.

Wow Boray, thanks for finding that again! I remember hearing it sometime before and couldn't find it again for some reason! I love how it just builds and builds and gets progressively harder... pure ear-candy it is!!

Well, I think it's fine for what it is: A demonstration of one of his guitars. If Bob would like to do a real instrumental it would most certainly be a lot more impressive. But I guess instrumentals isn't his bag or he would have done a few already. Or maybe he already has. How about his current guitar solo? That solo is played exactly the same every time so maybe it isn't a solo but a guitar instrumental.

Bob is amazing. He is the one who hung in there and didn't give up when Petra went through rough times. There would have been no Petra, or at least it wouldn't have been the same, without Bob.

Bob is amazing! I hope he one day will return to the "Jekyll & Hyde" sound and put out a new album with John Schlitt on vocals.
A hard & heavy Petra footprint!
