Christmas Single?

Well, that's what I'm trying to find out! ;-)

It CAN happen - but we would need SUPPORT from the fans. Not a full-blown Kickstarter program, obviously, but it would take around $2-$3K to produce a GOOD high quality single.

I'm trying to see how much support the fans could give - either as a pre-buy, or better yet - helping to fund it ahead of time.

"Likes" on Facebook is great, but they're not gonna get the job done. Cash will! ;-)

Now we only need 1999 at $1 each to make it happen! :-)

Seriously, it's within reason to be able to get it done, don't you think?

Will there be a cut off date for donations? How long will it take to get it done and out in time for the Christmas Season? I will give some, just let me know.

I would be in. This is my absolute favorite Christmas carol. Would love to hear a polished huge chorus that only John could properly do

Look, those people are stupid. We know that Dec. 21st is not he B-Day of Christ, and we know how it came to be that we celebrate on that day. But, Jesus came first. The day did not come first. Heck, time itself did not precede Christ. So, it doesn't really matter. If that person follows his/her illogical mindset, you might as well throw out Christian rock, because the devil was rockin first. Come on. It isn't the day. It's what YOU do with it NOW.

Don't want to be a party pooper, just like the new album soo much that I think if any money is raised, it should be for more promotion somehow of TGC. I love TGC ...

Yes, I think you have a point. I also love TGC and can not put it down; "Live It Loud" is actually becoming one of my favs. The whole album ROCKS!!!!

I know Michael Sweet already did O Holy Night. The more I think about it, I wouldn't mind hearing John do something completely different. Something like a whole Christmas album, and go all Rod Stewart Great American songbook style. Something that would have mass appeal. Or , start the opening track that way, with a huge arrangement, and then bust into a rock assault.
O Holy night is one of my favorites, for sure, but I'm guessing there are a million versions out there from credible singers, plus it has taken on the life of the token christmas song for every wannbe pop star looking to flaunt their pipes.

Thanks for all the support and interest! It's good to know that the Crew is still ready, willing & able to help.

It's really all up in the air at this point, as it IS rather late in the game for Christmas. It is/was definitely a thing John wants to do, but it appears that time constraints are the issue.

The other thought is to hold off, work on a full-blown Christmas album for 2013. Course to do THAT you'd need a whole lot more nickels... quarters even. :-)

So if/when this actually does happen - you guys will be the first to know.

If John does want to do a full Christmas album through Kickstarter, count me in. I'm assuming the campaign for that would need to start in the spring to have an album out by late fall 2013?

If Obama is elected, he may outlaw Christmas. So do it quick. He has already changed the meaning of one holiday.

If it contains the word "MAD," you're spelling it right.
