I am looking for anyone who wants to sell cds of Petra with original booklet, distributed by Word Music. For today is too much hard find some cd's Band. The way more confortable is mp3, but really the sound is poor, even the technology had already invented the FLAC.
In Brazilian Market now there is only the cd's Petra distributed by BV.
I bought The Rock Cries Out, came home, pay a lot, and what I scared me ? The cover is just a pic rather poor, without notes, lirycks no photo. Like a Pirate street vendor cd. As if we imprimisse the hood and taped the mp3. A GARBAGE.
A LACK OF RESPECT TO THE CONSUMER.
Does it still exist CD with original artwork to sell imported?
There's someone who wants to sell your used? (may be on eBay). What I'm had seeing? Somepeople selling BV' cd as Original. The're Crazy.
Just imagine: The Praise 2. We Need Jesus, that was distributed by Word, it was in insert the instruments scores of songs and tabs. Untill now I met just two or three people who had this cd in 1998.
Can nobody did not get over this?
We are Consumers.
Can any One Help me? There's a way to buy by today Petra Cd's with Original artwork booklet.
Send me a market adress or a email if somebody want to sell...
Please.
(in USA are the BV's cds so poor?)

I've never heard of BV Records in the USA. Can you get it through amazon.com in Brazil? I heard they have a web site for Brazil now but don't know if there are any restrictions ... Usually that is the cheapest place in the US for stuff if they have it ...

From what I read it sounds like you are looking to buy cd's from Petra that have the original artwork and lyrics. Evidently a company called BV distributes Petra and the packaging does not look professional. I hope that is what you were saying. In the U.S. there is no distributor that I know of called BV. Petra has been distributed to Christian bookstores and regular merchants through various distributors over the years. I have two copies of Beyond Belief, one said DaySpring and the other I think was A&M. The cd's looked different but most of the artwork was the same. The last time I bought Petra CD's they were out of print, but available because of a lot of inventory. Since then a few albums have been re released.

CBD offers a few Petra titles, and it looks like they'll ship just about anywhere.

Careful with Amazon... they have a small sentence that says:
CD-R Note: This product is manufactured on demand when ordered from Amazon.com.
This means you'll get a copy of the album art, but next to nothing of the liners or the rest of the artwork. Sounds like what BV is doing.
PetraMerchandise.com ships internationally... so does SchlittShop.com

Like gman said, CBD is a great place to order stuff, we get (most) of our music and books from there. Especially since they have great sales and what you would pay 20 bucks for in a Christian bookstore you can often get on CBD for half of that!

Be careful when buying The Rock Cries Out.
The original 1989 Dayspring version has a full booklet.
The 1989 A&M Records (rather hard to find) version has a slimmed down version of the booklet.
The 1992 A&M Records version also has a slimmed down version of the booklet.
The 1997 Word Record re-release has a cheap one-page insert, just as the Word/Curb and Word/Warner re-release from 2002. All the newer official releases are cheap versions.
If you want to get the full booklet, make sure you get the original 1989 Dayspring version. It's not extremely hard to find, but the sellers at Amazon / CBD usually don't give enough information. You never know what version they're selling. Keep an eye on eBay, have a look at Gemm or Musicstack.
If I have time later this week I can try and find a few originals for sale and send you the links privately.

The Amazon page for The Rock Cries Out doesn't have this sentence. I think the album is still in print and they're selling the original 2002 re-release with just a 1-page insert. I'm sure petramerchandise is also selling one of the newer releases without lyrics. It's not their fault, because the one with full lyrics just isn't in print anymore.

Guys, the distributors in foreign markets manufacture under license. When it comes to Brazil, it is not uncommon for unauthorized black market products to be sold in the stores. Those people do not care where it comes from or what the quality is. I had people manufacturing for me, and they botched the printing as well. What can anyone do? Nothing. They are there, we are here.
Reissues and license manufactured products never have the original booklets, because those original files, mock-ups, and production masters are loooong gone. The companies churching out this stuff do not have access to it. They are not going to make much money on it, so it doesn't make sense for them to reproduce it. Besides, it makes the original product more desirable.

Word Distribution apparently has CDs left, however it is to be retired
Go to the following link
http://worddistribution.com/results.php ... name=Petra
I'm not sure how you will order it from them but it's worth a shot. You can email them at the bottom of the page via the "Contact Us" link.
