The Petra Zone

Happy New Year everyone! I was checking out some old videos on Youtube over the holidays. I saw the "Prayer" video from Petra for the first time. It appears that Bob and Louie are each standing behind a keyboard for the whole song, along with John L. playing an organ, I believe. I've never seen either Bob or Louie play keys, did anyone else find that unusual?

Not sure about Louie but I do remember bob playing keys during "prayer" on the BB tour....those of us in the crowd we pretty surprised....

Yes they actually set John Lawry up front and center with Bob off to the left; I think I remember Ronnie playing some type of Keytar for Prayer also.

I've read that Bob Hartman's piano skills are somewhat of a hidden talent. I understand that he does the majority of his song writing in front of a piano instead of with guitar in hand as one might expect.

I believe that to be true about Bob and his song writing; I read somewhere that most guitar players use the piano for their writing skills.

Not this one. I've written a few songs on the piano, but I'm much more comfortable writing with the guitar. I've written at least 50 or more songs and only couple by way the piano.

Personally, I'd love to hear Bob Hartmen's honky-tonk piano renditions of songs like "Fired Up!" and "Seen And Not Heard".
