I guess the classic rock tour is not happening, right?

I don't know. I'm optimistically cautious.

Unless they bring back Louie, or Ronny or some other wild card... there is no appeal to me.

Daniel he is talking about the "Classic Rock Tour" with the band Asia and others not the "40th Anniversary Tour"

BTW dates are appearing for the fall with more in the works but not ready to confirm. John Elefante is scheduled to be doing some dates with them but I'm not sure if they are listed as of yet, and also be looking for something big in early 2014 tour wise; my sources are saying things are being talked about with some other Christian artists about maybe doing some things, but I'm not at liberty to say who/when/what at this time. 2014 could be very big & bright for Petra just pray that God's Will is done.

The "Classic Rock Tour" & "40th Anniversary Tour" are two different entities. The Classic tour was going to be Petra, Asia(w/John Payne) and some form of Genesis and most of the dates were going to be in Europe with maybe some being in the USA, but as far as I can see nothing ever materialized with this; I've never seen any dates confirmed or posted.
The 40th Anniversary Tour is Petra being the headline act and in some cases being the only band. John Elefante is joining them on some dates but I'm not sure which ones and I'm not even really sure in what capacity he will perform. The other items I posted concerning other artists are CCM artists but at this time I'm not at liberty to give out anymore info because everything is in the infant stage and could fall apart at anytime and in some cases just promoters talking/discussing without any official word coming from any artists.

There were no members of Genesis. The last singer of Genesis, post Phil Collins, is who is touring and using the name. Nobody really knows this guy as the voice of Genesis. The first two singers are the Genesis voices who created the hits. This guy is a nobody.

Asia is minus Steve again IIRC.

They aren't coming here and if they were, I don't think I would bother going.

This bands were the same thing as if Bryce Bell, David Lychens, Frank Morganstein, Rob Frazier, and Paul Simmons got together and called themselves Petra and went on tour. Not interested. Meh!

Never been a fan of any of those bands(except Petra) with or without the real members, but if they came to Dallas and Petra was there with them I would go and see you never know maybe I would hear something I like.

I thought the classic tour was supposed to have a version of ELO. Does this ring a bell? Some great ELO tunes come to mind.

Perhaps Whiteheart is involved. Just speculation. They've announced, through their Facebook page, the expanded list of tour dates. Only a couple cities are confirmed at this point. The rest of the dates need hosts. I'd love to see both bands together again.

I would too, but to my knowledge their names have not come up together in the conversations that I've been involved in.
