JH2 would be awesome or maybe even something like a concept album about the last week of Jesus' life here on earth. BTW Classic Petra proved the no future in history idea.

That's a good idea. If they don't use that, I might.
Bob's song writing makes me sick. He is so stinkin' good that it makes me want to break a box of pencils. He can bring the positive out of the negative and make it rock. John Schlitt can do this as a bit. I think John is under rated as a songwriter.
After the new year, I am going to start looking for new alliances so I can get my ideas out of my head.

You're talking a concept album similar (or the same) as Dana Key's "The Journey." Excellent CD:

this is a game changer.
Not really... it's a way to get FB folks talking & excited. It's PR.

You're right Sue, that IS a great CD. We'll, for me it's a great cassette tape since I bought it when it came out. I'll have to check Amazon or ITunes for a digital version

OK, I obviously should have clicked on your link before posting my comment. At least now I know where I can get it!

I bought it at a used CD shop a number of years ago. When I looked up the reviews, they weren't all that great - and I can't figure out why. I really REALLY like the album.

I wonder if people were expecting it to be more rock-n-roll, less theater. I love the album too...some reviewers may have been expecting more stuff like Rock Solid though. It's such a great concept album.

Hey Sue. So, does that mean they are not really going forward with the plans for a possible new Petra CD and tour?

Nope. Petra in unretired. They are back and energized. They said as much at Friday night's concert. Bob talked about their responsibility, and ours, as Christians, to take the gospel to our country specifically, and to make use of the resources God has blessed us with. He didn't mention specific plans for the future. He just said they were back, and he introduced the new song and CD. It was great show by the way. In many ways, Christian is the perfect drummer for the music. While he doesn't do some of the flashy stuff that Paul did, I felt the music was much tighter overall than the times I saw them with Paul, and much more in the pocket. Christian plays like he really loves the music and wants to be there. Not that Paul didn't like the music or didn't want to be there, I just get the feeling that Christian loves it a lot more, and really enjoyed this version with Christian more than with Paul. As much as people clamor for Louie, I kind of think that Louie's playing might not be the best fit with what the band is doing now musically.
Bob was as fantastic as ever. I can't speak to John's vocals as he was pretty tough to hear. Probably because we were too close to the stage. I'm pretty sure though that many of the songs were in a lower key.
The crowd was energized, and it was a packed house. It's not a huge venue but it was full, and both the radio station and the Petra guys talked about doing it again soon.
