Overview
From it’s beginnings in 1975, Contemporary Christian Music has delivered hundreds of inspiring songs that have stood the test of time. Many of the artists and songwriters who led those formative years of CCM are still impacting audiences today while an entire generation of new CCM artists follows in their footsteps.
“We Will Stand” brings the songs of breakthrough recording artists, including Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Point of Grace,
Petra, Twila Paris, 4Him, Steve Green, Steven Curtis Chapman, and many more together with today’s CCM top artists (including Toby Mac, Lecrae, Skillet, Mercy Me, Newsboys, and Laura Story) for an evening of hit songs and performances that have changed countless lives for four decades.
Together, we will provide renewed inspiration and hope for a generation of listeners who have experienced the power of CCM in their own lives as well as introduce the next generation to these life-changing songs.
Details
The “We Will Stand” event will be billed as “The greatest night in the history of Contemporary Christian Music” and will be broadcast live through video stream (provided by LifeWay) to potentially 1,000,000 viewers and on Christian radio stations across the country. It will also be recorded and released as a DVD and companion CD on April 6, 2015. Beginning in Spring 2015, “We Will Stand” will air as a two-hour special event on general market and Christian television networks.
The beneficiary of this event will be The Gospel Music Trust Fund. All those attending the live event will be invited personally by industry leaders and participating artists. There will be no ticket price, but those attending will be encouraged to give generously to the Trust Fund. Additional benevolence ministries will benefit from CD and DVD sales as well.
“We Will Stand” will undoubtedly provide the opportunity for additional smaller cast events across the country sponsored by Christian radio and other ministries.
