Yeah I was there that night too. But I went alone. The other date I was referring to was the Beyond Belief tour sometime in 1990. Its not in the list.

They were protesting Christian Rock music. In their eyes it was of the devil. They were saying that Rock music in general was of the devil. I never understood those Bob Jones folks' logic, seeing as how the devil never had the power to create anything as God created music. The devil just takes what God created and twists it and turns it around. Granted there are secular rock bands that have a bad message in their lyrics and even the ones who don't have a bad message don't exactly glorify God, but Petra's music does. Just because it is of the rock n roll genre does not make it bad. I'ts like saying "You can't listen to Christian Rock music because it sounds like rock n roll, then you can't listen to Southern Gospel music either because it sounds like country music." But I'll bet those Bob Jones folk's listen to southern gospel! Sorry to get off on a tangent there. I'm sure Petra got protested almost everywhere they played. Especially in the Bible Belt.

Interesting. I didn't know that they were protested that often, even into the 90's. Though, I do know a few people who still don't agree with Christian rock.

I was there that night. Still have the black and lime green t-shirt and water bottle. I went to a local Christian school at the time and we knew how extreme BJU was already. I didn't pay it any attention.

Does anyone know if the concert archive at the link below is still being updated?

Terje Rodland and I worked on that several years back and I've just recently dusted off my copy of the list and added lots of new and corrected info via the various new archives and old newsgroup tour itineraries and show reviews.

I did reach out both Sue and Terje, but, so far, I've not heard anything back.

No worries, either way. Just wanted to check.
