Actually a very good observation that one could ponder on for quite some time.

They are more alike than they are different. They were all put in a box. There are other similarities.

I simply meant that nobody would ever mistake Amy Grant's style of music for rock.

Yeah. Her best "rock" album was a live album she did with DeGarmo & Key backing her. She is more like Stryper. They both sang high, looked like girls, used a lot of hair spray, wore tight pants, were bashed by the church for being worldly.

Amy Grant was popular and well-known making her a convenient target for the "rock is of the devil" crowd because a mainstream congregation would likely be more familiar with Grant than with Petra or Stryper, so she became the face of Christian rock for many people even though her music was ironically of the more church-friendly adult contemporary style.

Some of those "rock is of the devil" folks were into some pretty nasty stuff themselves. It's really the double standard I have trouble with though...They condemned others when they were doing their share of messing up and not following the Bible. You should take a look at yourself before you start pointing the finger at other people.

I don't have a problem with someone pointing out when something isn't in agreement with the Bible. There is a place to speak up when something isn't right, and there are certainly a lot of things about the music industry that are messed up. However...The motive should be to point the person to the truth, not condemn them, you should be sure you're doing yourself what you expect of others, and ultimately how the person responds is up to them. It's also probably not a good idea to do this with people you've never even met and don't interact with, it's meant for people you know and have established relationships with.
