SALT by John DeGroff

Post by John DeGroff » Tue Jun 12, 2018 1:19 am

Hello, this is DeGroff. I've never really paid much attention to any Petra fan pages before. I've seen some comments about the new album I'm releasing on the 22nd of this month through Rottweiler Records. I'd like to say that since John Schlitt is on the record and I'm the original bass player (first two albums, in the band from 1972-1978), it definitely qualifies as a Petra related project. Musically, it's a collection of prog rock and jazz. Granted, the songwriting is not Hartman's, but then again, Bob didn't write everything on every album. The music and the lyric content is thought provoking and meant to make Christians think and non-Christians take notice. So, please check out the Rottweiler Records main page for ordering information. Thanks in advance for everyone's support.

No stumbling pilgrim in the dark, the road to Zion's in your heart.

Give these songs a listen -- they are very unique, and a great addition to your collection of Petra-related material!

DeGroff is an awesome bassist, and we know how great John Schlitt is as a vocalist - so you can't go wrong!

The first song, "Runnin'" features John on vocals. He nailed this - though he's never sang on a prog rock tune before. Check it out!

Pre-Orders are only $7 - and as a bonus: download three of the songs right now, while you wait for the full digital version to release June 22.

4/5 stars is a bit generous especially based on the humdrum review. (I wonder how many Christian album reviews get 1/4 stars.)

Pretty cool that some artists still make the music that they like, not just whatever they think will be popular. John Schlitt+ John degroff is awesome.
