Has anyone else besides me noticed that during the CPR promotional video on their Facebook page, Petra's Beat the System LP has been replaced with their Australian limited edition Beat the System '86 Tour Souvenir EP? I wonder why.

The Great I Am is available on the CITAS VHS and cassette, and the other tracks are nothing new.

I own that record, when Petra played in Australia in 2005. I got Bob to autograph it, and he looked record puzzled he said I never got paid for this one... Was the first time he had knowledge of it.

He should look at my website more often, haha.

Seriously, though. This is on A&M Records, so a results of the license deal between Word, Inc. and A&M Records. In addition, it's an international release on the Australian A&M branch Festival Records. That probably creates a fuzzy trail on any royalty statement. I can't imagine that would've been produced without the proper royalties.

Greg X is a totally underrated singer, I can't work out why he wasn't a house hold name. He probably should have taken the secular path in the 80's for a bit just to get some exposure.
He would have been too old to break in the secular market. But, when he lived in Florida, he hooked up with a guitar player. They wrote an album together. Greg intended for it to be similar to a Sammy Hagar type sound. Greg and the guitar player got sideways and Greg shelved the album. He said he still has it.
It's funny on how Greg always says he has all these songs laying around yet we never see them. On his facebook page last year he made the comment that he had enough material to make several albums with CPR but they just and try rehashing out material.

Yeah... It is odd. I wonder when they will get around to this new album they say they will be making. It can't be that hard to write 8-10 songs, but I guess that depends on a number of factors

Right on topic, Doug was on Eddie Trunk's Trunknation show with George Lynch this week. They were pushing their album from KXM (named after the three bands they are known for: Korn, KingsX and Lunch Mob). I asked Doug if he played more with Phil and if there were any other tracks out there that he and Phil might have played together on as session guys. Nope. I asked him for his take on the pre-Petra band w/GXV and he repeated word for word what is on Wikipedia.
