Come and Join Us is just a good ol' 70's rocker that would be at home on any classic rock station. Some great guitar work, especially on the opening track, and the extended drum solo on "Woman Don't You Know" is a real treat. I do like Petra's freshman album, but it sounds a bit raw and amateurish to my ears these days, and Washes Whiter Than is a little too much 70's pop for my taste and my least favorite early Petra album.

I agree, C&JU has some great 70s rockers on there. One thing I've always wondered though: who does that very high falsetto vocal leading into the chorus of Holy Ghost Power?

Come and Join Us has some really great tunes. The extended intro to "God Gave Rock 'n Roll to You" is awesome. I have a really hard time listening to Washes Whiter Than.

Come and Join us got my vote. Although I don't like Petra's 70's stuff that much I think C&JU had some very nice guitar parts, especially lead. Some of it was more experimental too. Petra (1974) was I think too country/southern rock, and I don't like Washes Whiter Than, too popish.

I'm not sure, but it's certainly not Bob or Greg.
