It's good to see John Slick posting again. I enjoyed conversing with him. I would love to have him play on a PDC3.
Hey Brent, you're an engineer right? Here's an odd audio thing I'd wondered about but forgotten until recently listening.
It's a weird "slide whistle" sound right at 2:29. I suspect it was amp tube saturation.

You know, at first, I used to think it was the guitar, but it sounds like it could be some manipulated organ. I don't know. Do I get a winning lottery ticket for coming up with the right answer?

You're supposed to know these things!

I always assumed that was Bob doing a quick slide up a string during the solo, but now that I listen to it closely, it doesn't correspond with any chord/note changes. Feedback perhaps? A happy accident? Or a sound effect that was deliberately added to the mix because JDB thought it sounded cool?

Come on, Mr. Slick, you were there. You tell us!

Of course this is one of those details that you don't really notice until someone points it out, and then you can never again not notice it!

It almost sounds like a pick scraping quickly across guitar strings.

Even slowed down, it's hard to hear a pick across string windings. Somebody put another day in the week and I will import it into iZotope and isolate it. Ha.
