Beyond Belief 30 years

It's hard to believe it's 30 years since Petra's "peak" album was released! I became a Petra an in early 1991, so BB was their current album at the time. I hope it gets the treatment it deserves with a re-release, original liner notes, pics (maybe some additional live pics from that era) and all. I don't even think a remaster is necessary.. just a re-release. What do you guys think? How well would it be received this day and age?

Happy 39 years, Beyond Belief! Wait- that would make Petra itself 48 years old…

It is a good album!

Diehard, I think Petra is around 48 years old? If they started in '72 they would be

I would see 'Petra' listed in every single list of Christian rock bands and they were always getting recommended to me so I directly pushed them aside but now that they're my favorite band I can't help but list them first for others who ask for bands too! 8)

Yeah, they were by far the biggest classic Christian rock band. Nowadays that would be skillet I suppose

I suppose they would be; they're kind of like Stryper I think, where people like them regardless if they're Christian or not and some don't even know they are Christian/claim they're not.

I still remember when beyond belief came out it was amazing to hear. My dad went out to get the album at some point for the car on cassette and winded up getting the youth choir version... needless to say it was return for the real thing.

Those youth choir versions of Petra songs were atrocious. Was there really a market for such a thing?

Can't believe it's been 30-years since Beyond Belief was released. It came out when I was in college, and my friends and I saw Petra live at the Virginia State Fair around that same time. One of the more memorable concerts I've been to since it was a small crowd, and we were about 15-feet from the stage. Despite the small venue, the guys put on a great show.

It continues to annoy me that Petra never made a live album when they were at their peak. The Beyond Belief tour would have been the perfect time to record one.
