Ronny Cates start date

Post by Rusty » Wed Mar 18, 2020 4:04 pm

Does anyone know if Ronny joined before or after the band started laying down tracks for On Fire? I know he is credited for the album just wondered if anyone had an actual date joined.

I can't remember the exact date but I know he was on the final leg of This Means War! Tour. I saw them twice on that tour in Houston once at the Sam Houston Arena and once at Astroworld; He played the Astroworld show early spring 1988; I remember them playing "All Fired Up" in the encore to showcase the new album. I would think he was there for all of On Fire! studio time.

What a great encore!
Back in the day Petra always did great encores with 3-4 songs usually lasting 20 minutes long. Most artists now a days play one song encore and then they leave; the one artist that might be different is Skillet; we saw them last year here in Frisco, TX and they played 4 songs for an encore.
