Yes, I would say that email is the preferred method of contact in 2020.

Of course it's the "preferred" way, but I wanted to send him a letter, that would be more fun. It's fine, I didn't actually think I would be able to anyway though, just asked in case.

It's a privacy issue and I would rather guess that any of us here doesn't even have his home mailing address.
