I ripped all my CDs in 2002, probably should do them again.

I can't say I've ever noticed any clipped audio for all the years I've been listening to the CD version of On Fire!.
I guess it’s only an issue if you’re ripping the CD, not when you’re just listening straight through.
Suppose it depends on how you rip it. I use lossless FLAC these days which plays back gapless by default. If you're ripping to MP3 without the "gapless" flag enabled, then you would be more likely to hear when tracks aren't divided perfectly.
Gapless vs not isn’t the issue. The problem is there with all ripping methods once you listen to the tracks individually/shuffled. Only some audio editing will fix it.

My preference is to cue up the first track of an album and listen straight through to the end, so I would never notice something like that.

My peronal remasters of the first two albums and CITAS, (from cassette), have been done with the same software and sound pretty darn good too.
Is this still available from some where? I'd love to get a good, clean version of the cassette cut of this concert. I have the CD and DVD version but no longer have the cassette available.
Yes, I'm a bit late to the party... but does anyone have copies of these that would still be available, somewhere? These remasters sound like they would be fantastic, and better than those Girder remasters. I've got a lot of old Petra stored away on original vinyl, but lately without a good player setup so just listening via spotify. Would love to hear what stateofminduk originally created!

I’d love a link as well (including the 2 tracks from Washes Whiter Than), if you don’t mind.
if it is still possible to share, I have an account on "we transfer", thank you and God bless

AI "demixing" is becoming more accessible all the time. For instance, there's the website moises.ai where you can upload any music file you want, and AI algorithms will separate vocals and instruments into separate tracks. The results aren't perfect, certainly not as clean as the work Abby Road can do, but still pretty darn good for consumer use. I use it to remove the drum track from songs so I have something to play along with.

So the technology exists for someone to take the Petra albums, demix them, and then create brand new mixes from the ground up. The only question is whether or not there's the money to do it, and if there's an experienced mixing and mastering engineer willing to do a proper job of it. What do you say, Brent? :)

I think whoever owns the production masters at this point will be looking to remix and modernize all of their assets. The technology isn't there quite yet, but it is coming soon. Maybe I will get my dream album, GXV singing Back To The Street. Ha.

Have any of you guys watched the videos about how they created a new Randy Travis album? He can't sing because of his strokes. So, his long-time producer/engineer sampled every syllable he ever sang, built a database and then imprinted it all over a donor vocalist with a similar delivery. It sounds like Randy recorded it. It's spooky.

According to Alex Van Halen, he tried using his labels AI tool to assemble new music out of Ed's bits and pieces, but it didn't work.

Using AI to "demix" a song so it can be remixed is one thing, but using it to create an artificial minickry of a human performance, I don't like that at all. Autotune, pitch correction, and quantizing are bad enough.

I've heard AI Randy Travis, and it is spooky. Eddie Van Halen's talent was unmatched, even by AI.

I own every Petra album minus the compilations, which I have no use for. Petra never had any unreleased songs or "deep cuts", so there was never any reason to buy the compilations if you already had the albums. Someone once asked Bob Hartman about unreleased material that might be hidden away, and he said there isn't any, because Petra didn't have the money to record anything that wasn't going to be released on their next album.
