Influences and collaboration

Over the years I’ve heard and thought about the various musical influences especially early on and I just wonder if Bob Hartman collaborated with Kerry Livgren (or others) to develop and evolve Petra’s sound. Even album covers are similar to mainstream rock bands like Boston…. Anyone else, does anyone know or have comments about this?
