On Petra's new compilation album, Best For Last, a handwritten set list of 13 songs is provided from their Best For Last tour. One of the songs is scratched out. Any guesses as to what the song is and why it didn't make it on the album?

That's just a gimmick. This is not a real setlist for a real show, but produced especially for this compilation of studio tracks. There were no plans to include an extra song on the compilation. The scratched out song is only to create the effect of a real setlist. Since this isn't a real setlist, the scratched out words might not even really be a Petra song title.

Perhaps it's made to look like it could have said Fool's Gold, but not entirely sure. They did have that on the setlist in recent years.

ChatGPT seems to have more humor than you would expect from an AI: I gave the picture to ChatGPT and asked what the crossed-out title might be.
Answer: God gave Rock'n Roll to you.
Isn't that one of the songs Petra doesn't like to play anymore?
I wouldn't have read that out of it now, but my request to read the song between “Just reach out” and “Creed” was also answered: God gave Rock'n Roll to you.
So for me it's AI checked!

I thought it might be Fool's Gold, I emailed Bob and he concurred that it was likely Fool's Gold to get the set time shorter.

Are these new recordings? Or is it just the record label dipping back into the same old well?

One could only wish these were new recordings, but they are indeed "dipping back into the same old well."

With any luck, we'll eventually get
Best For Last: Live Edition.

Pretty sure all of these songs were played at the last concert of 2024 in Cleveland, TN...it was an INCREDIBLE concert!
