The Petra Zone

Last week, I was suddenly reminded of a video I saw once called Hockey Beyond Belief. It was put out by Hockey Ministries International to promote their Christian Athletes Hockey Camps. The video features interviews and highlights from Christian hockey players, and was released in 1993. All of the music in the video is by Petra. I was living in Ottawa at the time, and was invited to the official launch of the video, since someone knew I was a Petra fan.

Then, a couple of days ago, I happened to be in our church library waiting for my wife and was killing time looking through the video titles. Low and behold, there was Hockey Beyond Belief, so I signed it out, just to see was Petra songs were on it. They had pretty much every fast song from Beyond Belief and Unseen Power in it at one point or another. Here is the list:

So, has anyone else ever heard of or seen this video?

I've seen that video a lot when it first came out. My friend Mikes Aunt had it and we would watch it all the time along with Beyond Belief and Unseen power. She had a lot of Christian video's like one called 2x4 which had Rick Cua, Michael W. Smith, Kenny Marks and Mylon.

I've been trying to find a copy of HBB for a long time. How was the quality of the video when you watched it?

I've also got that 2X4 video. I've also got another one called Ultimat Rock or something like that with Petra's Whole World. It also has Steve Taylor's Jim Morrison Grave, a song which I always loved turning up really loud. It has WhiteHeart, DeGarmo & Key, Mylon, REZ, and one more, but I can't think of who right now.

So there is no original Petra-music on this video that is not available anywhere else?

The video quality was excellent. Judging from the library card, it hasn't been signed out in 10 years. And no, there is no original Petra music on it and none of the band members appear. It's just soundtracked with music from Beyond Belief and Unseen Power.
