Petra on MySpace

I was wondering what's going on with Petra on MySpace. Do they have an actual MySpace-page?

www.myspace.com/petraband : this one looks like someone from the band or management (Wayne?) started this one up a long time ago, but never did something with the page. If this is supposed to be Petra's official MySpace, it looks rather disappointing.

www.myspace.com/petra2006 : many visitors believe this to be the real MySpace-page, but this is actually a page that is maintained by some Brazilian guy. The band has totally nothing to do with it. Perhaps Bob might want to take action against it. I think the guy who runs the place needs to state more clearly that he is not affiliated with the band.

Hello to all

hey man....

I´m the guy responsable for this page....
I created this page in Myspace in 2006 with a goal in make a tribute for Petra..because they have been one of my favorites bands ever..

but every day some people send me requests to add in this page. and now i have a lot of people in that page. I´m a busy guy here and i don´t have time to upload the page daily , and i would like to pass this page to another guy work in.

yeah.. i´m not affiliated with Petra...and some people send me questions about Petra and i say that I`M NOT AFFILIATED WITH PETRA.. I´m just a fan that love they music and they ministry ..then ...that page is just an FAN PAGE...

i´m apologize with Bob and the guys for never having spoken
about this FAN PAGE

and how i said .. i don´t have time to upload the page in this time ( for some reasons like work , family, band etc..) i´m just accept the friends requests.....

but if someone have some question or ask something write me in my e-mail [email protected]

i´ll be glad to answer all questions LOl..

i hope this helps

I think the petra2006 site is very nice. Petra has a lot of good fans in Brazil. The Petra band thing is a joke but I'll refrain from getting into that.

There are a number of Petra fan sites. The only official myspace sites are John's and the 2 Guys site. I think Bob watches the 2 Guys site as he's able, he's pretty computer savvy, but they're actually run by Sue and Sam with me helping out a bit with friend's requests and keeping an eye out for the stupid hacker comments. John isn't into computers.

Paul, Pete Orta, Greg Bailey and Quinton all have their own myspace sites that they monitor themselves, but I would imagine it gets to be a lot and they keep up with it as they're able to. They don't have anything to do with any official sites that I'm aware of.

Word to the wise: Don't assume a band's myspace site is actually being run by the band members. Anyone can put anything on myspace. :) It's a good way to keep in touch with people, but it has its disadvantages too just like anything else.

Any band that has time to interface daily with all of the Myspace community is filthy rich and has nothing else to do, or is on the complete other end of the spectrum. It is too hard for any artist to maintain and respond to all. It really requires a full time employee.

I hate Myspace. It is poopy software and has had many virus issues. Just like MP3s, it is a necessary evil that most everyone uses and will never go away.

A great place to commute, that I use is called Shoutlife. It is run by Christians, with a Christian Message and is strictly Christian. Anything questionable and you're... BANNED! That's what's really great about it. No viruses or anything like that so you guys should really check it out, as well as Godtube.com, that would be a great place to put your Petra, John, Greg, and II Guys vids.

Well said, Shell.

Myspace takes as ton of time, as Brent said. We have 3 people working on both http://www.myspace.com/johnschlitt and http://www.myspace.com/iiguys and it's all we can do to keep up with everything.

Shoutlife can get pretty intense as well, but we do have http://www.shoutlife.com/iiguys. I hope to make a John Schlitt site there as well...

They may have gotten tired of the hackers or some of the nonsense on myspace and just decided they didn't want it anymore---People do cancel their accounts occasionally. :)

They were on Shoutlife too, I'm kind of curious now if they still are.
