I'm really digging The Grafting!

After the second and third listen, I found myself rockin' out to some of the tracks and singing along with the mellow tunes. This album is full to the gills with pop hooks! I gotta say, the audio preview doesn't do the album justice. There are some much better sound clips that could've been used. For starters: that guitar riff in "Face Of God" is killer! "Gravity" is one solid rocker (I could've used the guitars a touch higher in the mix, but it's still cool)! Also, I love the Evanesence-style piano arrangement in "Only Men"! Any thoughts?

Too bad, so sad...

being so short!
I wish John would have had a few more songs on here.
I LOVE THIS CD!
John does a great job and the songs are well crafted.
The title song especially touches me because of our own adoption.
Way to go John!

HEhehe... me too - until I scrolled down.
I'll guarantee you - if this album does well, you will be hearing MORE from The SchlittMeister!

This may have been answered on another thread already, but have any radio singles been released? If so, which ones should we be asking for?

What I did was send MP3's of The Grafting and Only Men to CCM stations near me and Keep Your Light On to the rock stations. I suggest you guys do the same, to stations in your area and use the SAME songs so we can have uniformity. Talking with Sue, they're also getting a radio guy to help.

This is a really well done album and I've listened to it at least ten times since I received it on Feb 26. I have it on repeat in iTunes and use it as my work music. Out of ten songs there is only one that musically for my taste doesn't totally do it for me, but I never skip it. I give the album a complete listen every time and as a whole it is awesome!
My top five songs are:
1. Only Men
2. First Song
3. The Grafting
4. Carry On
5. Lord Have Mercy
I have to point something out, that the song "First Song" is a lot like Nickelbacks "Photograph". I swear the chord pattern is the same and even the topic of looking back on something...a song vs. a photograph. It really doesn't take anything away from the song for me because I'm Canadian and I like Nickelback
Overall this album is a keeper and Dan can write!!!

This will happen within 2 weeks.
A radio promotions director has been hired, and based on his recommendations for a single(s), we will go with that and start releasing to radio via the normal download channels.
Right now, we're looking at "The Grafting" and "Only Men," but that is subject to change.
petrabandca - can I bug you to shorten up your signature a bit? It lengthens the pages all the time so you have to scroll back & forth horizontally to read all the posts (unless you have a laptop or widescreen monitor).
I do love you sig, though - I'd been meaning to tell you that!

Sue, if you'd enter the 21st century and get a widescreen monitor, you wouldn't have that problem, and and you wouldn't be crushing his free speech.

Thanks for the back-up Jonathan
I wish you had said something sooner Sue. I view at 1280x800 resolution and forget about lower resolutions. The images are set so that anyone viewing on 800x600 will have a slight side scroll, but nothing compared to before.
I really couldn't go any smaller...anyone at my resolution wouldn't be able to read the text under Bob's link. I created them to try and create traffic to each site.
So for future, anyone experiencing something on the zone that takes away from their visit...don't hesitate to mention it. Ask and you shall receive

James: I looked up Nickelback's "Photograph" video on Youtube. You're right about the similarities.
Sue: Glad to hear about the radio guy. It sounds like he's on the same on the same wavelength, since those are the two songs John performed live on the TV show.

LOL! I do not want to stiffle anyone's first amendment rights!
Well, in my defense I DO have a widescreen on my laptop (and I bought a digital camara!) I do NOT have widescreens on my desktops. And truthfully - I hate the LED monitor on my laptop and the one work monitor. I'll keep my old monster monitor at home... at least I can SEE the lettering.
I'm at 1024x768 on this machine.... I'm not totally blind ...yet!
Thanks for taking that down a bit, James. Appreciate it.

I had a feeling those two songs would be picked so I sent those to my local stations. If you can, send Keep Your Light On to the usual rock stations TAG and Fused Management send stuff to.
