I just bought Strong Tower from Kutless. They do a cover of "Take Me In" from Petra Praise. Did Bob Hartman write that song?

They also sing "Better Is One Day" from Petra Praise 3 (Revival).

I was only somewhat familiar with Kutless up until now. I really like these guys. I also got their LIVE CD and it is awesome. Dare I say the new Petra???

What's come over you?

Actually, I have heard that comparison before.

What would be the criteria for "the new Petra?"

I have been to many Petra concerts over the years. They always rocked, but they also glorified God. You felt like you had been to church after you left the concert. Kutless seems to be similar based on the Live CD. I think these guys really want to honor God with their music.

They've gotten more comparisons to Creed than any other band, at least from what I've read. Most people I talk to don't like them because they feel that musically, Kutless is unoriginal. Can't remember any negatives or positives about lyrics.

Got a sneak listen at their new CD that's coming this month, I think. It is a totally different sound from Sea of Faces and Hearts of the Innocent. It's a good move for them...many bands die a painful death when they stick with one "sound" for too long.
