Cool! I see that Petra, as a group, got in last year. It's nice to see John get recognized as a solo artist.

Great!!!
Petra was inducted in 2001 (I think). The list for 2007 on their site is actually a list of everyone who's ever been inducted.
Will John be present? He's not scheduled to perform or appear.

It would be great to see John go and be a part of the ceremony. Based on the current list of performers, though, it sort of looks like the major players in the industry haven't lended their credibility to this outfit.

It's nice, but it is not part of the boys club.

These ceremonies were actually at my church. I didn't go because of pricing, but would have if John and/or Stryper had shown up. From what I could though John was not being inducted this year; He had already been inducted the previous year. The long list you saw were artists that had been already inducted. I believe Russ Taff, The Imperials, and David Meece were some of the inductions this year.

Which Imperials? Who showed? There is a big stink over the use of the name Imperials by the three groups, none of which own it, but share it by permission.
I love the Imps in all of their forms, except the non quartet years when Armond's sister sang with them.

Jim, Armond, Terry and Sherman: Next Fav

I really don't know which Imperials showed. I only know the ones from the late 70's- early 80's. The picture they had on the presentation were guys in their mid 20's. I didn't even know the name Imperials was still around until this past week.

That was your church, Exe? This originally was going to be held at a convention center... not sure why it was switched to a church.
John was inducted THIS year - 2008. Many of the others, including Petra, were voted in for 2007, but this is the first actual AWARDS CEREMONY. They invited all those who had previously been voted in, as well as the current inductees.

Oh really!! Then I guess I read it wrong afterall. Why didn't John attend then? I would have gone if John was attending. I didn't go because the ticket prices were $30 for non church members and $18 for church members, but surely would have found a way if John was going to be there. I'll be honest and never really thought much about the whole thing just found about it 2 weeks ago or so. It orginally suppose to be at the convention center(I believe Fort Worth) and don't know why it had to be moved, but our church do alot of concerts and specials of this nature.

I guess I confused this with the GMA Gospel Music Hall Of Fame. This is some other Hall Of Fame then? Who's behind this?

I'm not really sure who is behind it but from the artists point of view it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. Brent or Sue might be able to enlighten us a little more.

Yes, this is another entity - it's NOT the Gospel Music Hall of Fame (GMA). It's the CHRISTIAN Music Hall of Fame & Museum.
It's headed by Andy Woolard whose sole purpose is to honor those in Christian music who have made an impact on the world.
While GMA is more or less a "paper" organization, Andy is working towards having a physical place to house Christian music memorabilia... to showcase the history of the genre. A museum, in other words.
So that's what this was all about. Not related to GMA at all.
