Bob Hartman Guitars

Post by ErioL » Fri Mar 26, 2004 6:06 pm

Anyone actually own a Bob Hartman Guitar? I knew he was making a few of the Jekyll and Hyde models, but now he actually seems to have started a custom guitar business on the side and is actually working on a new Super S model. This model is supposed to be cheaper than the J&H. Hopefully I can afford it when it finally comes out. Peace-j

Yeah, Me and my brother both actually own guitars from Bob, but they're not ones that he made, they're ones that he played. The J&H looks like a sweet machine though. I wish I knew more about that Strat version he is working on. My guess is that they are highly costomized kit guitars by the looks of it.

Hard Rock Cafe

Post by MichaeLeah » Mon Mar 29, 2004 2:11 pm

Wouldn't it be cool if one of the guitars Bob played could be displayed in a Hard Rock Cafe. That would be really cool

Can you picture it?

There is Jimmy Paige's guitar, then Eric Clapton's, then Bob Hartman's, then Keith Richards....and so on...

Actually, one of his guitars is on display at one of the HardRock cafes'. I think it is that silver, funky lookin' thing he played on the beat the system tour.

That is really cool. I didn't know that. Could you tell me which Hard Rock the guitar is currently in? It isn't in New Orleans by chance is it? I live in New Orleans and have been to Hard Rock a few times but I haven't seen it here. I might have missed it though if it is here. What city is his guitar in?

That is cool his guitar is in a Hard Rock, but geeze, Paris is a long drive from New Orleans. I am not going to be able to visit very soon. :(

Nashville

Post by Michael » Tue Mar 30, 2004 10:08 am

I was under the impression that it was in Nashville, but I dunno. Last time I looked at HRC's Web site they had some of their memorabilia catalogued there, but only the most popular stuff was listed... and in the scheme of the whole world, Bob's not considered THAT big of a deal. :)

If he wanted to be a Big Deal he would have been in a raunchy mainstream rock band, now wouldn't he?

I remember very clearly that it's in Orlando. It was reported in CCM many years ago.

You may also take a look at the HRC in Jacksonville. I believe the MPTY devotional mentions that the band has some things on display in there.

Locations

I don't see it listed in the "top 10" in Orlando, but there is also a museum in Orlando called "The Vault" that might contain some Petra stuff I suppose. I don't even see one listed for Jacksonville. But these links (thank you, Google!) shed some light on the subject:

"The band resigned the new agreement with a party at the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville. Memorabilia from Petra's two decade career is displayed there as well as in the Hard Rock, Atlanta." - 1994 http://www.etext.org/Religious.Texts/Li ... /TLeM1.1.6

"The night Pete's guitar was inducted into the Orlando Florida Hard Rock Cafe'" - picture at Pete Orta's site

"Anyhow, we had a night to kill, so I suggested that we make a traditional visit to the Altar of Bob. You see, Bob Hartman of Petra had a guitar hanging in the Hard Rock Cafe of Nashville, so I had dubbed it the Altar of Bob." - 2000 http://jeffreyholland.tripod.com/cornerstone2k.html

I've got to get my hands on one of those guitars. It's only right for the Andband guitarist to have the same tone as Bob. that's a smokin guitar. Problem is I'm about 1900.00 short. Donations? haha

My friend told me that some of the memorabilia gets passed around through the different Hard Rock Cafes. For instance, I saw Ronny's bass at the San Francisco HRC, but he had signed it to the San Antonio one. My friend said that a lot of the Petra stuff that was at the Nashville HRC has moved around to other ones. They do have stuff in multiple locations, but I guess you'd be going in circles trying to find it!

That is true they move stuff around the Hard Rocks. However, I wouldn't think they would move around Petra stuff much because they wouldn't know what the stuff is. I think highly of the Bob's guitar but some people are blinded to good rock 'n' roll. (Maybe I should say deafend)
