"It's a New Day" - is this song available?
So I just found out there was a song called "It's a New Day" that was recorded for the Jekyll and Hyde album but then scrapped. Just wondering if there is any way I could listen to it?

Actually it did (according to Bob) get the full recording treatment but was scrapped. I Will Seek You made it instead; I believe they wanted to please the PW crowd.

the rutting foom cloor
There must be a pretty good reason why it ended up on the cutting room floor. Maybe they found out that the song has a curse and when anybody listens to it their head turns into a giant cockroach or something. I don't know.

That didn't stop them from releasing "Friends".There must be a pretty good reason why it ended up on the cutting room floor. Maybe they found out that the song has a curse and when anybody listens to it their head turns into a giant cockroach or something. I don't know.

Wow. Tough choice. I must admit, I wasn't crazy about "I Can Be Friends With You".
I haven't heard the bootleg song to which you refer, but of the other two, I will take "I Can Be Friends With You" ... in the same sort of way that I will take "Spam" over "Treet".

I think you're referring to Hope Marches On, which was recorded in 2001 and never got released. There was a six-song demo that somehow escaped from the studio and popped up on the internet somewhere.

Oh, and I would much rather listen to the MxPx cover of I Can Be Friends With You. That's more like it!

Remember the project by Liberty 'n Justice, called "Welcome to the Revolution?"
Yes, that demo escaped because the guy who worked that project, Justin Murr, wanted to pick a song from that demo to use on his project... he ws given the rough cuts on CD. The song ended up to be "It's About Love."
But in the process he apparently gave away the CD to a guy who featured the songs on his internet radio station (or at least it made its way to this guy).
Someone here posted that this guy had John's songs on his playlist, so I did some investigating, contacted the guy, got a copy of the CD and asked him to take those out of his playlist.
I don't remember the station or the guy's name.

Re: ...nice
Poor friends, which would you rather:
I can be friends with you from never say die
or Friends from PP1?
I really don't think that you can compare the two songs. One is from a totally different time and album style, being Never Say Die. The other song is just out of place and dosn't even belong on a Petra album. I Can Be Friends With You fits in the album as one of their traditional slow songs, but Friend All In The Family of God just dosen't go at all.
