I prefer my music "dated"
I am one of the few crazy people who actually love the 80's electronic drums...who cares if they sound dated and aren't real drums, I think they have a powerful sound with lots of uumph which really makes a song exciting

thymeless, dimeless, crimeless, rhymeless
I don't think music has to be "timeless" for it to be well-accepted by the public. Take the Beatles for instance - their music sounds very 60's but tons of people continued to love their music long after it went out of style. And even though most 80's music is "old school" by today's standards, I have many friends (even friends my age) that love it anyway.
To me, it doesn't matter how "timeless" or "dated" the music is - as long as I find it beautiful and exciting to listen to.

And that's ok. The public can do what they want, you can do what you want. You like what you like. I don't particularly care for the Beatles, but because people love their music long after it went out of style, in my opinion, that actually makes them timeless. Johnny Cash. Dylan. Sinatra. Miles Davis, timeless in my opinion.yamasaaaki har har wrote:I don't think music has to be "timeless" for it to be well-accepted by the public. I'm not knocking the Elefantes' mission or abilities, but I find Halo and Mastedon and even some Petra dated. That is set in a certain time. It's often not a tangible thing, and it varies from person to person, and some genres are given to timelessness or datedness more than others.

I actually thought Paul was a far superior drummer to Louie, and I like Louie. Technically, Greg on bass was great, but Ronny certainly had a better stage presence. It would have been nice to have a second guitar or keyboards on the Farewell Tour, but c'est la vie.danielaussie wrote:yeah I think that line up with Mark Kelly, would be my second choice.
I guess after seeing Back stage pass, It made me like this lineup more.
Then again I was in Primary school when that came out, and was very impressionable
And I was in third year university when Backstage Pass came out (where are the walkers?)
