Petra on Guitar Praise game

Post by Tutor23 » Mon Nov 03, 2008 3:22 pm

The Christian version of "Guitar Hero", known as "Guitar Praise", contains one Petra song. Take a guess as to which one song was placed on this game as representative of Petra's legacy. I'll fill you in after several guesses have been posted.

Is it I Love the Lord from The Rock Cries Out? I bet that guitar solo would be pretty challenging.

I'm guessing it's backslidin' blues.

It's probably "Lucas McGraw" or "God Gave Rock & Roll To You".

Why is it that there's always a CHRISTIAN VERSION of something?

Aren't there any Christians who can actually CREATE something NEW that the world hasn't seen before, rather than always FOLLOWING something?

I guess we Christians just like to parody everything. Yeah, that is kinda sad.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Have you guys played Grand Theft Chariot yet? If you beat Goliath on the Pyramid level, it unlocks the cat-o-nine tails.

The winner is...
"Backslidin' Blues"

And why, you ask? Beats me. But how absurd. What a maroon. It is so frustrating that, of dozens of great Petra songs out there, this is the representative that is chosen? What a joke. If I were a young person who had never heard of Petra before, and this song was the one I was exposed to on this game, do you think I'd be looking up Petra on iTunes to see which other songs I'd like to purchase? Hardly.

How does this happen? Does Petra have any say in the matter?

Frustrated and Disappointed,
Andy

Like, Backslidin' Blues wails, man.

If I had to venture a guess, it was picked because its more than just hammering power chords. And there's probably lots of that through the game.

Chin up.

At least the trailer was "professionally" done.
