John did a great job covering Bob Carlisle's Butterfly Kisses, Ray Boltz's Thank You, and Wham's I don't Want Your Freedom. It was spectacular.

Some of us went out. I didn't say much.

Ok....Now maybe Edward will post and tell his side of the story.

Ok...it was a blast. We had fun. I enjoyed meeting Sue in person. Sue, you are a trip. I met quite a few Pet Heads, which was great. some of them we have been talking to for some time. John shows are a family affair.

I put up some info and pics on our blog:

It was a pleasure to meet, eat and enjoy John with you all.

I once lived on a planet with a chocolate sky but there were holes in the ozone layer because people kept eating the sky so we had to move to Earth.

I really wanted to go to this, seeing how it's probably the closest John's gonna get to Dead Moines, but the usual bugaboo kept me from going...lack of $$$.

Damn.

Louie and Viktor are going to Nebraska sometime soon I think. Maybe you can catch them. Not the same thing, but Louie will be entertaining nonetheless.

What's stopping you from being born here?

We DID have a blast! I always love hanging with Petheads, and especially meeting the ones that I've emailed and talked to but never met in person.

Like you, Brent! you are a stitch & a half and you had me laughing so much...! Or maybe that was Edward... not sure!

Here's one song that John covered on Sunday morning that was nothing short of miraculous: Never Been Any Reason.

Yes, I'm serious. The church band does parodys (changing the words to popular songs and putting Christian lyrics to them), and they've been doing this one for years.

So after a little prodding, John came up with the band and did a Christianized version of Never Been Any Reason.

It was so cool to hear that.... he did the same moves & inflections as on the original - only BETTER!
